Who We Are
Think Talent HR Consulting is led by Tamara Pooran, Founder and Principal Consultant, with over 30 years of HR experience across Financial Services, Healthcare, Petrochemicals, Manufacturing, Government Services, Sales & Distribution, IT Services & Solutions, Education, Media and Communications, as well as management consulting in both the public and private sectors.
Her career began in financial services in Toronto, where a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from York University and financial markets licensing gave her a strong grounding in the business side of organisations. It was her subsequent recruiting roles, placing professionals into financial services roles in Canada and the Cayman Islands, and as a recruiter with Manpower Services at the Toronto Hospital, that drew her deeper into human resources. Returning to the Caribbean, she continued her HR career as a Junior Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) before leading Employee Relations at Angostura Limited. She then progressed into senior HR leadership roles across the region, serving as Human Resources Manager at Industrial Plant Services Limited (now PROMAN), Vice President of Human Resources for Fujitsu Caribbean across Jamaica, Trinidad, and Barbados, and Senior Manager of Human Resources for DIRECTV Caribbean (part of the AT&T Group) across Trinidad, Barbados, and Curaçao.
Over 19 years in leadership, 9 of them at the senior management level within multinational organisations, she built and led HR departments, drove strategic people initiatives, and spearheaded organisational change initiatives. Her commitment to this work is reflected in her Certificate in Change Leadership from Cornell University and her certification in the PROSCI Change Management Methodology.
In 2018, Tamara founded Think Talent HR Consulting to deliver HR expertise through a flexible consulting model. Since then, she has worked with regional manufacturers, public sector agencies, multinational platforms, educational institutions, and non-profits, building HR strategies, leading executive assessments, designing performance and compensation systems, conducting job analysis and job description exercises, and coaching leaders through their own career transitions.
She is supported by two associate consultants who bring additional research and project management expertise to every engagement.

Change is constant, and most initiatives fail not because the strategy was wrong, but because the people side of change was underestimated. Tamara is PROSCI Certified in Change Management Methodology, bringing a structured, proven approach to helping organisations navigate change successfully.
